Mary DeVan related her doctoral research on Filipino domestic workers in Vancouver, Margaret Oldfield and Belinda Leach adddressed low-paid clerical and garment workers (including the methodological challenges of researching the latter) whose workplace is the home, and Sedef Arat-Koç commented on a recently published paper [entitled "In the Privacy of Our Own Home: Foreign Domestic Workers as a Solution to the Crisis in the Domestic Sphere of Canada"] on the political economy of the relationship of the state to domestic service.
