Evaluates the effects of Canadian socialist John Amos McDonald's 1921 visit to New Zealand on that country's Communist Party. Rather than reinforcing party unity, McDonald influenced the creation of New Zealand's splinter West Coast Communist Federation, which was active until 1925.
